This week during our Ocean Project we will discover what animals live in the ocean. We will take a closer look at the characteristics of a fish and look at some of the strange looking fish that live deep in the ocean that the children may not have seen before, such as the lionfish, boxfish, and others.
Then do a comparison: mammals to fish, discussing lungs vs. gills.
We also discuss how important it is to keep our beaches and oceans clean to help protect the animals of the ocean. Next, the children will create a class ocean animal book by illustrating pictures and labeling the animals. Lastly the children will start creating individual ocean dioramas.
