Fantasy and Real Animals

Last week, we learned about the different types of dinosaurs and their unique names. This week, we will talk about the difference between fantasy and real. Talking about examples such as a cartoon animal vs a real dog we have as a pet. Then we will discuss how although dinosaurs aren’t alive anymore that they were real animals a long time ago and became extinct which means we won’t see them again in real life.

Next, the class will create a timeline to show the progression and the end of dinosaurs lives. Then the children will look at pictures of dinosaur bones and fossils and learn how paleontologists use these items to learn more about dinosaurs.
We will also start celebrating Native American heritage month by looking at different ceremonial instruments and make a rain stick.
