Kissimmee, Orlando, FL
Kissimmee is a town in Florida and was initially settled by the Native Indians. Today, it’s best known as a tourist hub located in Orlando. The economy of Kissimmee is fueled by tourism which includes the theme parks such as Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld. In recent years, Kissimmee has undergone a period of rapid development that has seen the city’s population grow from 14,000 to more than 58,000 within just ten years. Kissimmee began as part of an area known as “the Cow Field.” It was first settled by Native Americans who hunted wild game on the prairies surrounding Kissimmee Lake. In 1883, a man named Hamilton Disston purchased a large portion of the Kissimmee Lake for use as a water supply for St. Cloud and Orlando.
In 1898, Florida became a state, and in 1911, George Cromwell joined with other investors to purchase 40 acres from Hamilton Disston. The purpose was to provide farmers and other settlers with the land to live and grow crops such as celery, tea, tomatoes, oranges, and strawberries. Today, the city of Kissimmee is mainly known for its proximity to Orlando, which draws in thousands of tourists from around the world to visit Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld. In recent years, Kissimmee has undergone a period of rapid development that has seen the city’s population more than double for just ten years. Kissimmee is also home to a significant multi-carrier air facility known as Orlando International Airport, one of the world’s busiest airports. Kissimmee serves as a high-tech hub and has also undertaken an initiative to increase its number of medical-related jobs such as biomedical research and development, wellness centers, and hospitals.

If you’re considering a move to Kissimmee, then there are several things that you’ll want to think about. These include the average rental rates currently being charged for available apartments and homes, local laws governing housing and property use, and any restrictions relating to grass lawns, parking, and so on. Kissimmee is a high-tech city with an increasing number of local jobs in the biomedical and health industry. This forces home and apartment rental prices upwards as many people flock to Kissimmee to take advantage of employment opportunities unavailable elsewhere.
While this has seen the city’s overall population increase, it has also made it difficult for those who would like to rent an apartment in Kissimmee. Essential factors to consider when thinking about renting an apartment or home in Kissimmee include the average rental rates that are currently being charged, local laws governing housing and property use, any restrictions relating to grass lawns and parking, etc. The average rental rates in Kissimmee for apartments and homes are higher than the national average. This is mainly because many people work in Orlando and commute to the city every day. As a result, there is a solid rental market for properties that are located near major highways.
